Terms And Conditions

Terms And Conditions

Welcome to Southern California Justice Center (“SCJC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website located at socaljusticecenter.com (the “Site”), together with any related content, tools, features, communications, and services we make available in connection with the Site (collectively, the “Services”). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and SCJC.

By accessing or using the Site in any manner — including browsing, submitting a form, calling a number listed on the Site, initiating a chat, or otherwise interacting with the Site — you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you must not access or use the Site or the Services.

Please read these Terms carefully before using the Site. They contain important information about your legal rights, including provisions governing dispute resolution, limitations of liability, and disclaimers regarding the nature of the Services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By visiting, browsing, registering on, or otherwise using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Accessibility Statement, each of which is incorporated herein by reference as though fully set forth in this document. If you are using the Site on behalf of an organization, business, or other entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms, and “you” will refer to both you individually and that entity.

If you do not have the authority to bind an organization, or if you do not agree with these Terms, you must not accept these Terms on behalf of that organization or use the Site in that capacity.

We may update these Terms from time to time as described in Section 16. Your continued use of the Site after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.

2. Description of Services

Southern California Justice Center provides informational content, educational resources, intake forms, and referral-related services concerning legal matters within Southern California and, where applicable, throughout the State of California. Our content and intake processes are generally oriented toward practice areas including, without limitation, employment law, wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination, workplace discrimination and harassment, personal injury, consumer protection, and related civil matters.

The Site may allow visitors to submit information through online forms, telephone calls, text messages, or chat features for purposes such as requesting a case evaluation, requesting general information, or being considered for potential referral to an attorney or law firm.

The Services made available through the Site are administrative, informational, and facilitative in nature. SCJC does not provide representation in legal proceedings, does not file pleadings or appear in court on behalf of any visitor, and does not guarantee that submitting information through the Site will result in a case evaluation, a referral, representation by any attorney, or any particular legal outcome.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Site or any aspect of the Services, temporarily or permanently, at any time and without notice or liability to you.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Site or submit information through any form, chat widget, telephone line, or other contact mechanism made available on the Site. The Site is not directed to, and should not be used by, individuals under the age of 18.

By using the Site, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement;
  • You have the legal capacity and authority to enter into these Terms, whether on your own behalf or on behalf of an entity you represent;
  • All information you provide to us, whether through a form, by phone, by email, or otherwise, is true, accurate, current, and complete;
  • You will promptly update any information you have provided if it becomes inaccurate or incomplete;
  • Your use of the Site will not violate any applicable federal, state, or local law, rule, or regulation; and
  • You are submitting information regarding a legal matter in good faith and not for any improper, fraudulent, or harassing purpose.

We reserve the right to refuse service, deny access to the Site, or decline to process any submission, at our sole discretion, for any reason, including a suspected violation of these eligibility requirements.

4. No Attorney-Client Relationship

Important: Use of this Site, submission of a contact form, telephone call, text message, or any other communication with SCJC through the Site does NOT create an attorney-client relationship between you and SCJC or any attorney, law firm, or legal professional affiliated with, referenced by, or referred through SCJC.

SCJC may operate, in whole or in part, as a marketing, intake, and referral platform that connects visitors with independent attorneys or law firms (“Referral Attorneys”). Any attorney-client relationship is formed only if, and when, you separately and explicitly engage a Referral Attorney through a signed retainer or engagement agreement directly with that attorney or firm. SCJC is not a party to, and assumes no responsibility under, any such engagement.

Submission of your information through the Site does not obligate any Referral Attorney to accept your matter, and acceptance of a referral is at the sole discretion of the receiving attorney or firm. SCJC does not control, supervise, direct, or guarantee the actions, advice, competence, billing practices, or representation quality of any Referral Attorney or law firm to whom you may be referred or connected.

You acknowledge that any information you submit through the Site prior to the formation of an attorney-client relationship with a Referral Attorney may not be entitled to the same confidentiality protections that would apply to communications with your own retained attorney, although we maintain reasonable safeguards as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. No Legal Advice

The content available on the Site — including, without limitation, articles, frequently asked questions, blog posts, practice area descriptions, case result summaries, testimonials, and any automated, templated, or AI-assisted chat responses — is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. None of this content constitutes legal advice, legal opinion, or a substitute for consultation with a licensed attorney regarding your specific facts and circumstances.

Laws vary significantly by jurisdiction, are subject to differing interpretations, and change over time through legislation, regulation, and court decisions. Content on the Site may not reflect the most current legal developments in your jurisdiction. You should not act, or refrain from acting, based on any content on the Site without first seeking individualized advice from a qualified attorney licensed in the relevant jurisdiction.

Statutes of limitations and other procedural deadlines may apply to your potential legal matter and may be very short. Delay in seeking legal counsel could result in the permanent loss of your legal rights. Nothing on the Site is intended to, nor should it be construed to, toll, extend, or otherwise affect any applicable deadline.

6. Registered Accounts and Submitted Information

If the Site offers any form of account registration, portal access, or saved-submission functionality, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any login credentials associated with your use of such features and for all activity that occurs under your credentials. You agree to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.

You acknowledge that information you submit to the Site — including case details, personal identifying information, and contact preferences — is provided voluntarily and that you have reviewed our Privacy Policy governing how that information is collected, used, and shared.

7. User Conduct

When using the Site, you agree that you will not:

  • Submit false, misleading, fabricated, or fraudulent information through any form, telephone call, chat, or other communication channel;
  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any local, state, national, or international law, rule, or regulation;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site, other users’ accounts or submissions, or any computer systems or networks connected to the Site;
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or place an undue burden on the Site or the networks and servers connected to it, including through the use of bots, scrapers, spiders, or other automated means without our prior written permission;
  • Transmit any viruses, worms, malware, time bombs, or other harmful or malicious code;
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
  • Harvest, collect, or compile information about other visitors or users of the Site without their consent;
  • Use the Site to transmit unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, “junk mail,” “spam,” or any other form of solicitation;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the Site or attempt to derive the source code of any software used to operate the Site; or
  • Use the Site in any manner that could disable, overburden, damage, or impair the Site or interfere with any other party’s use of the Site.

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate legal action against anyone who, in our sole discretion, violates this provision, including removing the offending content, suspending or terminating access to the Site, and reporting violations to law enforcement authorities where appropriate.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, audio clips, video clips, data compilations, software, and the design, selection, and arrangement thereof (collectively, the “Content”), is the property of SCJC, our affiliates, or our licensors, and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, trade dress, patent, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.

The SCJC name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of SCJC or its affiliates or licensors. You may not use such marks without our prior written permission.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and make personal, non-commercial use of the Site. This license does not include any right to:

  • Reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any Content, except as incidental to normal web browsing;
  • Delete or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary rights notices from copies of materials from the Site;
  • Access or use the Site for any commercial purpose, including competitive analysis or the development of a competing product or service; or
  • Use any data mining, robots, or similar data gathering or extraction methods in connection with the Site.

Any use of the Site not expressly permitted by these Terms is a breach of these Terms and may violate copyright, trademark, and other laws.

9. Testimonials, Case Results, and Advertising Disclaimers

The Site may contain testimonials, reviews, case results, settlement figures, or descriptions of past outcomes obtained by Referral Attorneys or affiliated firms. Any such testimonials or results reflect the experience of specific clients in specific factual and legal circumstances and do not constitute a guarantee, warranty, or prediction regarding the outcome of any other legal matter, including yours. Past results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome in any future case.

Any content on the Site that could be construed as attorney advertising is intended only for individuals located in jurisdictions where such content complies with applicable rules of professional conduct. If you are located in a jurisdiction where this content would not comply with applicable rules, please disregard such content.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, applications, services, or resources that are not owned or controlled by SCJC, including links to social media platforms, payment processors, scheduling tools, or third-party legal directories. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, accuracy, privacy policies, terms, or practices of any third-party websites or services.

The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by SCJC of the linked site or any association with its operators. Your use of any third-party website or service is entirely at your own risk and is subject to that third party’s own terms of use and privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.

11. Disclaimers

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT, INFORMATION, AND SERVICES PROVIDED THROUGH IT ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SCJC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING, COURSE OF PERFORMANCE, OR USAGE OF TRADE.

SCJC does not warrant, and expressly disclaims any representation, that:

  • The Site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free;
  • The results obtained from use of the Site will be accurate or reliable;
  • Any errors in the Site or its Content will be corrected;
  • The Site or the servers that make it available are free of viruses or other harmful components; or
  • Submitting a form or otherwise contacting SCJC will result in legal representation, a case evaluation, or any particular outcome.

You understand and agree that any material downloaded or otherwise obtained through use of the Site is done at your own discretion and risk, and that you will be solely responsible for any damage to your computer system or loss of data that results from the download of any such material.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SCJC, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AFFILIATES, REFERRAL ATTORNEYS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • YOUR ACCESS TO, USE OF, OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SITE;
  • ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SITE, INCLUDING ANY REFERRAL ATTORNEY OR LAW FIRM;
  • ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SITE; OR
  • UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT,

WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STATUTE, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT SCJC HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, EVEN IF A REMEDY SET FORTH HEREIN IS FOUND TO HAVE FAILED OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL SCJC’S AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SITE EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR CERTAIN OTHER DAMAGES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS, SCJC’S LIABILITY WILL BE LIMITED TO THE GREATEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SCJC and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • Your violation of these Terms;
  • Your use of the Site, including any data or content you submit, post, or transmit through the Site;
  • Your violation of any rights of a third party, including any intellectual property, privacy, or publicity right; or
  • Your violation of any applicable law, rule, or regulation.

SCJC reserves the right, at your expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter for which you are required to indemnify us, and you agree to cooperate with our defense of such claims.

14. Termination

We reserve the right, in our sole discretion and without notice, to suspend or terminate your access to all or part of the Site, for any reason or no reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or unlawful activity, or for any other conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to other users, third parties, or the legitimate business interests of SCJC.

Upon termination, your right to use the Site will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity obligations, and limitations of liability.

15. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Site, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles, and without regard to the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.

Subject to the dispute resolution provisions of Section 16, you agree that any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you hereby consent and submit to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts and waive any objection based on inconvenient forum.

16. Dispute Resolution

We encourage you to contact us first using the information in Section 19 to seek an informal resolution of any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site. Most concerns can be resolved quickly through direct communication.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within a reasonable time, both parties agree that, to the extent permitted by applicable law, any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms will be resolved through individual proceedings only, and not as part of a class, consolidated, or representative action, except where such waiver is prohibited by applicable law or deemed unenforceable with respect to a particular claim or remedy.

Nothing in this Section 16 is intended to, nor shall it, limit your right to pursue claims in small claims court for matters within that court’s jurisdiction, or to seek injunctive or other equitable relief where permitted by law.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions of these Terms will continue in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement; Waiver

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Accessibility Statement, constitute the entire agreement between you and SCJC regarding the Site and supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, and proposals, whether oral or written, between you and SCJC with respect to the Site. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this document reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be indicated by a revised effective date, and in some cases we may provide additional notice, such as a banner displayed on the Site or, where appropriate, direct communication. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Site.
